Fur Kids:
Jake, my ever photogenic Heinz-57 adopted from a local veterinary puppy adoption program in 1997, our 1st "kid."
Nikki, German Shepherd purchased from a "backyard breeder" in 1997... before we knew any better. We have no regrets as she is a wonderful companion, but without a doubt ALL of our future pets will be adopted from rescue!
Charlie, German Shepherd mix rescued by St. Francis Animal Rescue in 1999. He was hit by a car & had to have a full hip surgery. He started as a foster dog but I think he secretly knew he was a "keeper!"
And, a special acknowledgement to the many foster babies I welcomed into my home over the years: Andy, Maggie, Melanie, Goliath & Sunny.
