We’ve also provided a list of local organizations below that will have dogs & cats available for adoption. MONTGOMERY COUNTY ANIMAL CARE & CONTROL is county-funded and has the only shelter in town where animals can be viewed. All other groups are foster-based and will need to be contacted indidually to view their animals. Some adoption groups set up at PetSmart, Pet Supplies Plus, Petco and/or Pet Food Center on the weekends, so check with those stores for rescue schedules!

Petsmart, Pet Food Center, Pet Supplies Plus, and Petco also host rescue organizations on the weekends (and cats throughout the week), so you can check with those stores for schedules.
Adoption Screening Processes: Every rescue organization has its own screening process to help them place their animals into homes that best suit the animals’ emotional & physical needs. Please be patient & understanding with these processes, which only serve to set you & your new pet up for success & a lifetime of happiness together.
Prior to completing any application, we strongly encourage you to look beyond the cute face in the picture… please read the pet’s bio carefully to ensure he/she sounds like a good match for your family. If you aren’t sure what you want to adopt, consider applying to foster through any of these groups!
